ROADS, A SUPER 8 VIDEO
During last years summer I went on a roadtrip through western USA. During that time I brought my Super 8 camera (a Chinon 872 autozoom) which I got my hands on a few months earlier.
ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY
Analog photography isn’t something new for me. I’ve been shooting 35mm and 120mm film for over a year now. I know my way around it and am able to develop and scan the film myself.
But Super 8 was something completely new for me.
FIRST TIME SHOOTING WITH SUPER 8
While preparing for my trip I had to buy some 8mm film. Joeri De Jongh, whom I had my super 8 camera from, recommended me the Kodak VISION3 200T Color Negative Film.
The VISION3 200T is a fine grain stock. It provides the image structure of a 100 speed film with the versatility of a 200 speed stock. I always used it in outside daylight so I wasn’t to worried about it ‘only being’ a 200 speed stock and underexposing.

I had it being processed and scanned in Berlin by Click Und Surr. When receiving my film back from them I got a message saying it was extremely overexposed. Something to keep in mind next time! I corrected the overexposure in post with some grading.
I am quiet happy with the result, the only downside for me is that I didn’t bring enough film with me and only shot half my trip.
